The Mars Desert Research Station (MDRS) is the second simulated Mars analog habitat owned and operated by the Mars Society. The station was built near Hanksville, Utah, in the western United States in the early s, and it is typically crewed by small crews who visit the station for one week to three month rotations to conduct scientific research.
